There is even an aquarium at the museum where we saw
these cute Garden Eels bobbing in and out of their homes.

No problem follwing this rule!
If you are in the Tucson area you won't want to miss this place!
Don't forget to bring water!

"It's only a desert!" Yes, I know.
But then, the dear God made it so,
And since His work is always good
He must have loved it, else how could
He scatter flowers far and near,
Or keep trees green thruout the year?
He must have loved these mighty rocks
That came thru fire and earthquake shocks,
The mountains and the little hills,
The murmur of the dwindling rills;
He must have loved the deep blue sky,
The glistening cloud-bands floating by,
The gorgeous splendor, when the day
Is passing on its westward way.

Work & Play

 Sandy's cactus is stunning!
I walk by this cactus several times a day.
The orange blossoms are also filling the air
with a wonderful fragrance.
After shopping for 17 semi-straight boards, cutting and
heming the fabric, painting the boards, stapling the fabric,
Scott and Mike drilled the holes to anchor the last sun
shade panel along the carport.
It looks great and will provide many years of protection.
 Senior Olympics Day!
A great way to meet neighbors and have some fun.
Half of the participants are sitting in the shade.
Putting was the first event.
I only made one ball through the hole.
Ladder Ball was the second event.
I won my first game and then lost the next round.
Bean Bag Toss was the third event.
I beat Joanne in the first game and then
I had to play her husband in the second game and lost.
Scott was scorekeeper for the Championship game.
I didn't participate in the Cribbage or Bingo in the
clubhouse because I helped prepare the meal which
was hamburgers, brats, potato salad, baked beans,
chips, and Klondike bars for dessert.
It was a beautiful day and everyone had fun.
Here is our first bloom from a little cactus next to our shed.
After a long walk, we were treated to this
sunset view from our driveway. What a great day!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow,
and may trouble avoid you wherever you go.

About 50 people attended the St. Patrick's Day dinner
we had at the park. I am on the activities team for the month
of March so I helped decorate, set up, prepare and serve.
The traditional meal was corned beef with cabbage, carrots,
potatoes, Irish soda bread and dessert.
Sally & George are a sweet couple from Minnesota
who dressed to the max for the party.
They attend the Bible study group on Wednesday and
Sally goes to water aerobics Monday - Friday.
This is a friendly community and we have already met
over 50 people in just a few months.

In life you gain and lose friends.
When I returned home after the dinner,
I found out that a friend from high school just pass away.
Live each day to the fullest. Where will you spend eternity?
Scott & I decided to check out the Tohono O'odham
Swap Meet on Saturday morning.
We walked around for two hours and picked up a few things.
Of course we had to have a carne asada taco
 and they were pretty good.

Irish Blessing
May luck be our companion
May friends stand by our side
May history remind us all
Of Ireland's faith and pride.
May God bless us with happiness
May love and faith abide.

Things are happening in our backyard.

 There was a disturbance outside
and when I looked, it was a covey of quail.

We attended an outdoor concert just a few miles away.
Tucson Retro Rockets were great!
They play 60's and beyond classic rock.
It was another beautiful day so over
100 people were in attendance.
Nothing too exciting this week.
We are doing a few projects around the house.
Scott hung a string of rope lights in the back
while I painted some boards for the sun shade
we are putting up in the carport to protect the car.
We are loving Arizona!

Birds of a feather flock together.
