Petroglyph National Monument in Alburquerque
has several trails and thousands of petroglyphs.
In the Boca Negra Canyon you can see about
100 images.
This was on the Mesa Point Trail.
On the Cliff Base Trail you can see this pod petroglyph.
The most interesting one was on
the Macaw Trail where you can see
the Macaw bird.
Heading south we had to stop at Pie-O-Neer
which is located in Pie Town, NM.
When we arrived in the afternoon she only
had one pie available, Honey Pecan,
but several more were still in the oven.
Oh yeah, it was wonderful!
There was a documentary done about this place.
If you click on the link above it include recipes.
We can't leave you without one more
crazy thing we saw on our travels.
Yes, toaster and small appliances hooked on their gate & fence!
We saw another home that had toilets lining their driveway.
We didn't turn around to get photos.
What are people thinking?
It puts a whole new perspective about that neighbor
whose branches are hanging over your property.
We stayed in Silver City, New Mexico
and went to the Fourth of July Parade.
Pretty typical except this front-end loader
doing all kinds of tricks!
Not OSHA approved.
Amazing color!
Century plant blooming.
It generally takes between 8-30 years to flower.
The stem grows up to 20 feet tall,
blooms and then dies.
Wow, another great trip with over 6,200 miles!
We hope you learned something new
or are inspired to get out and discover
all the fascinating things and places out there.
