Peace, Love & Music

Old Trinity Church in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

I surprised Scott and took him to
The Guthrie Center on Friday.
This is where "Alice's Restaurant" took place
which is the song and movie by Arlo Guthrie.
Click on the link if you haven't heard the song
in a while. It is over 16 minutes long!
Can't leave out the VW Microbus!
Words of wisdom by Woody Guthrie.

Every Thursday they host a Hootenanny,
Wednesday they provide free community meals,
and Saturdays they have concerts.
Can't forget they also host a Thanksgiving dinner.

Amazingly we were able to get two tickets to a sold
out concert at The Guthrie Center!
Lucy Kaplansky from New York City was the artist.
Our theme for this trip is "Go for it!".
So we didn't give up.
The story is too long to include in the blog
 but we were blessed again!
 No photos were allowed during
the concert so here is a link to see interior photos.
The music legends continue sharing the love and
importance of music by starting an
instrument loan program for the community.
Back to New York.
Cute photo opportunity along the highway
to Bethel, New York.
The Museum at Bethel Woods tells the story of Woodstock.
It was cool, informative, and colorful.
There is a short movie that plays on the
windshield as you sit in the seats.
It is amazing how many albums Scott owns
that were on display.
They highlight every performer from Woodstock
through displays, videos, and music.
So much to read in the museum but we had
to include the information about
Arlo Guthrie. This display also includes
information on The Old Trinity Church.
Here is where Woodstock took place.
Can you imagine 450,000 people here? Amazing!
We had so much fun at the museum and walking
around the field.
